Our MissionHawaii Nursing Advocates & Mentors Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Aiea, Oahu, dedicated to supporting and empowering nurses across the Hawaiian Islands. We believe that Hawaii's nurses are among the most dedicated and compassionate healthcare professionals in the world, and that they deserve strong advocacy, meaningful mentorship, and robust professional development opportunities to help them thrive in their careers.
Our mission is to advocate for the professional interests of nurses in Hawaii, provide mentorship and career development support to nurses at all stages of their careers, and build a strong, connected nursing community across the islands. We envision a Hawaii where every nurse has access to the support, resources, and mentorship they need to deliver exceptional care and build fulfilling, sustainable careers.
Hawaii faces a significant nursing shortage, and retaining qualified nurses in the islands is a persistent challenge. Many nurses — particularly those early in their careers — lack access to the mentorship and professional development resources that can make the difference between a short-term job and a lifelong vocation. Hawaii Nursing Advocates & Mentors Inc was founded to address this gap, providing the support that Hawaii's nurses need to stay, grow, and excel in the islands.
We offer comprehensive support for nurses at every stage of their career — from new graduates to experienced nursing leaders.
Our structured mentorship program pairs experienced nurses with newer colleagues, providing guidance, support, and career advice that helps new nurses navigate the challenges of their early careers and build confidence in their practice.
Continuing education workshops, leadership training, and professional development seminars designed specifically for Hawaii's nurses — covering clinical skills, healthcare leadership, workplace wellness, and career advancement strategies.
We advocate for policies that support Hawaii's nursing workforce, including improved working conditions, competitive compensation, and expanded educational opportunities. We also build community among Hawaii's nurses through networking events and peer support programs.
